Memoire sur l'etat present de la colonie de la Louisianne : 1723.

Though the letter is unsigned, the content and a note on the first page indicate that it was written by Hubert to the Comte de Maurepas upon his return from Louisiana in 1722. Hubert had been critical of the government of Bienville in Louisiana beginning in 1717. This manuscript restates some complaints from earlier letters as well as adding new criticisms. Hubert expresses his faith in the land as potentially profitable; it wants only good administration. The complaints of Cartier de Beaune are mentioned in the letter as well.
